Our story

Loyal Studio began with a simple frustration. One of our founders commissioned a hand-painted portrait of her dog and waited six weeks, only to receive a painting of a generic brown dog that looked nothing like her. The ears were wrong. The eyes were the wrong colour. The little grey patch on his chin — the feature she loved most — had been smoothed away entirely.

That experience became our whole reason for existing. A pet portrait should be unmistakably your pet. Not a stock animal in a costume. Not an approximation. The real one, with every quirk intact.

We started Loyal Studio in Australia to make that kind of accurate, personal artwork accessible to everyone — fast enough to see a preview in seconds, affordable enough that you don't have to save up for it, and faithful enough that friends say “that's definitely them” the moment they see it.

What we do

We create custom portrait art from photographs. You upload a clear picture of your pet (or a person — people portraits work too), and we transform it into a finished artwork in the style of your choice: watercolour, oil painting, pencil sketch, pop art, anime, and more. You can keep the result as a high-resolution digital download or order it as a museum-quality print or framed piece.

Beyond everyday portraits, we offer two formats close to our hearts: memorial portraits, a gentle way to honour a pet who has passed, and gift portraits, which arrive with a personalised reveal so you can surprise someone with a portrait of the animal they love.

How a portrait is made

Every portrait starts with your photo. Our process is built to preserve the details that identification depends on — the proportions of the face, the exact eye colour, coat markings, and the expression. Rather than painting a “type” of animal, the artwork is anchored to the individual in your picture.

Once the portrait is generated, you preview it before you commit to anything. If a detail looks off, you can try a different photo or a different style until it feels right. Only when you're happy do you download the file or place a print order.

Prints and framed pieces are produced and shipped through trusted production partners. Digital downloads are delivered worldwide; physical prints are made for Australian and international delivery.
